Kesko's sales strengthened once again in June
Kesko Group's sales in June 2015 totalled €765.8 million. In comparable terms excluding Anttila, sales increased by 1.2% in local currencies.
"We are pleased that Kesko's comparable sales increased once again in June. Given the circumstances, the sales of the grocery trade in June were strong. Of course, there has been a general decrease in the average consumer purchase as prices have fallen and it is reflected in a decline in sales. It would seem, however, that we have done well in market competition in the grocery trade. We are also pleased with the growing sales figures of the home improvement and speciality goods trade and the car and machinery trade," says Kesko's President and CEO Mikko Helander.
In Kesko's grocery trade, sales in June were €396.0 million, a decrease of 1.7% from the previous year.
In the home improvement and speciality goods trade, sales in June were €272.1 million, and in terms of local currencies, comparable sales excluding Anttila increased by 3.0%. In Finland, comparable sales decreased by 3.0%, but market share continued to strengthen as in the first months of the year. Outside Finland, comparable sales grew by 8.4% in terms of local currencies.
In the car and machinery trade, sales in June were €96.7 million, an increase of 4.7%. VV-Auto's sales in June were €64.3 million, up 0.6% from the previous year. Konekesko's sales in June were €32.5 million, an increase of 14.3% from the previous year.

Change, %, indicates the change compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.
In June 2015, the number of selling days in Kesko's wholesale in Finland was 21, which was one more than in the previous year. The total number of selling days in January-June was the same as in the previous year. The number of retail selling days in June was 29, which was one more than in the previous year. The total number of retail selling days in January-June was the same as in the previous year.
