"Scoops of Hope": A cool, delicious way to help kids with life-threatening illnesses

Ice cream party fundraising campaign to benefit Give Kids The World Village

KISSIMMEE, Fla., July 17, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Giving children with life-threatening illnesses a fantasy vacation in Orlando just became easier thanks to the new Give Kids The World (GKTW Village) "Scoops of Hope" fundraising program. Scoops of Hope is a grassroots awareness and fundraising campaign inspired by a former GKTW Village family who celebrates the anniversary of their wish vacation by eating ice cream, just like they did in the Village's Ice Cream Palace.

"We've turned that heartwarming tradition into a fundraiser for families anywhere in the world to spread awareness and raise funds for the Village," said Pam Landwirth, GKTW Village President and CEO. "The idea is to host an ice cream social at your house, church, business, or local ice cream parlor and use the event as a fundraiser for our precious wish children. We want the world to know we're here to provide these deserving families with free, weeklong vacations, and that Scoops of Hope supporters are instrumental in helping make these wishes come true."
