Makes $2,500 Donation to Support Local New England Communities


SPRINGFIELD, Mass., July 22, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Carando®, the artisans of Classic Italian Meats and a brand of Smithfield Foods, have joined Big Y® in supporting the local New England communities. With help from NASCAR and Richard Petty Motorsports driver Aric Almirola, Carando made a $2,500 donation to Partners of Hope, a program established by Big Y to support fundraising for Breast Cancer Awareness. Partners of Hope is a part of the Big Y Partners in Community program that supports the local community ranging in educational programs and community programs like food drives. The donation was made Sunday at the New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

The contribution was made as a part of the "Carando Cares" program, an ongoing campaign to support the people who are making a positive difference in New England communities.
