Atikokan to Receive Funding for Sewage Treatment Plant Rehabilitation

Project approved under the Small Communities Fund

ATIKOKAN, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - July 29, 2015) -

Residents of Atikokan will benefit from the rehabilitation of the sewage treatment plant thanks to joint funding from the Governments of Canada and Ontario through the Small Communities Fund.

The Atikokan Sewage Treatment Plant will undergo a series of refurbishments in order to upgrade the aging facility. Upon completion, the plant will meet today's operational standards, and will help support a healthier environment for the residents.

This funding will help address local priorities, supporting job creation and economic growth, thus sustaining a high quality of life in small communities across Ontario for years to come.
