NORFOLK, VA., Aug. 4, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Williams Mullen is pleased to announce that land use attorney Grady Palmer has joined the firm's Real Estate practice in the Norfolk and Virginia Beach offices. Mr. Palmer's experience with land use regulations comes from more than 10 years of service in the City of Chesapeake's City Attorney's office and five years in the private sector, where he gained experience with residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use projects, including development agreements, public finance, public-private partnerships, transportation and utilities.

He has represented development and building industries in the Cities of Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, Norfolk and Suffolk and in surrounding areas with zoning and permitting for residential, commercial, industrial and mixed-use projects. He has substantial development experience, including planning and consulting services, due diligence, conditional use permits, zoning variances and lobbying for changes to local land use ordinances and comprehensive plan policies.
In 2014, Virginia Business magazine selected Mr. Palmer as a Legal Elite in the category of Real Estate/Land Use. Martindale-Hubbell has rated him an AV attorney, its highest rating available.
Mr. Palmer graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Georgia in 1996. He received his juris doctor from Regent Law School in 2000.
