Subsidiary GfO enhances sensor-covering screens for navigation devices with
a multifunctional coating - multi-year order ensures high utilisation for
additional inkjet production machine

Göttelborn, Germany, 12 August 2015. Nanogate AG, a leading international
integrated systems provider for high-performance surfaces, is benefiting
from strong demand for its unique inkjet technology. The Nanogate
subsidiary GfO AG has received another multi-year order with a total sales
volume in the single-digit million range following the successful
completion of an initial, smaller scale project in 2014. The project
involves refining a sensor-covering screen for navigation devices with a
multifunctional coating. The devices are used in a popular, high-volume
model.

Michael Jung, COO of Nanogate AG explains, "Our unique inkjet technology is
proving to be a key growth lever driving the development of the Nanogate
Group. Our customers benefit from an efficient and high-quality procedure
to refine plastics with multifunctional properties. This new major order
with a total sales volume in the seven-digit range is confirmation of our
good strategic positioning. At the same time, it ensures a high degree of
utilisation at our facilities, given that GfO only recently more than
doubled capacities for the inkjet technology."

Inkjet technology as a growth driver
In July 2015, the Nanogate Group acquired the outstanding shares in GfO AG
and, since this time, has wholly owned the subsidiary. Sales and earnings
had already improved significantly since the investment in 2010. Given the
strong demand, GfO recently put a second inkjet coating machine into
operation, a step which more than doubled capacities. Efficiency has also
improved with this new generation of machine: the new machine features an
innovative printing technology, improved processes and greater speed. This
means, for example, that several orders can be processed simultaneously.
This also includes the current major project, which has now reached its
full production scale with a total sales volume in the seven-digit range.
It is a follow-on order as the Group has already produced smaller numbers
of components in the past. First and foremost, the inkjet technology
enables the partial coating of small, two-dimensional plastic components to
a high optical standard without a mask. The technology makes it possible to
quickly implement the production of large numbers of components efficiently
and at above-average standards of quality.
