Thomas Söderqvist appointed Senior Vice President Corporate Responsibility Boliden

Thomas Söderqvist, currently General Manager for the Boliden Area’s mining
operations, has been appointed Senior Vice President Corporate Responsibility
for Boliden Group from 1 September. Thomas will be a member of the group
management team and he succeeds Henrik Östberg, who is leaving Boliden to
concentrate on his own business.
The group function Corporate Responsibility (CR) includes the areas of
environment, safety, personnel and communication, all of which are areas that
demand strong leadership and a deep understanding of the special needs of the
mining and metals sector.

Tomas Söderqvist returned to Boliden in 2012 from Sandvik, where he had been
Senior Vice President Marketing and Sales at Sandvik Mining and Construction,
having previously worked in different business areas and various central
functions within the Sandvik group. Before moving to Sandvik, Thomas worked at
Boliden, among other things as Mine Manager for Laisvall and Saxberget.

-  I would like to thank Henrik Östberg, who has since 2008 made a strong
contribution to the positive development we have seen in recent years. He has
been an asset in making Boliden a more modern company. At the same time I
welcome Thomas Söderqvist to the management team. With his technical expertise
and long experience of the receiving side of the central functions, he will
strengthen the integration of the group’s CR efforts, says Boliden CEO Lennart
Evrell.
