Elektrėnai, Lithuania, 2015-08-14 15:00 CEST (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- “Lietuvos energijos gamyba”, AB (company code 302648707, registered office address Elektrinės g. 21, Elektrėnai, hereinafter referred to as the ‘Company‘) announces its preliminary unaudited financial results for the period January – June 2015:
- Under the preliminary unaudited information, in January – June 2015 the Company‘s sales revenue amounts to EUR 104.92 million and is 13.7 % higher than in the same period of 2014 (EUR 92.27 million).
- The estimated unaudited EBITDA (earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation) of the Company for the period January – June 2015 totals EUR 35.22 million, which means a 2.8 % increase compared with the same period of 2014 (EUR 34.26 million).
- The estimated unaudited net profit of the Company for the period January – June 2015 is EUR 25.20 million, which is 12.5 % more compared with the same period of 2014 (EUR 22.39 million).
Juozas Bartlingas, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Company, comments on the Company‘s results:
“The growth in the Company‘s income has been largely determined by a very significant – 54 % increase in the electricity generation volumes in the first six months of 2015 compared with the same period of 2014: 0.919 TWh and 0.596 TWh respectively. While generation at the Kaunas Algirdas Brazauskas’ Hydroelectric Power Plant (Kaunas HPP) dropped 12.5 % due to a dry period and low water levels in the Nemunas River, the volumes have increased considerably at the combined-cycle unit of the Elektrėnai Complex and the Kruonis Pumped Storage Hydroelectric Plant. This year, in order to secure stable electricity supply during warm season, the Elektrėnai Complex has been continuously producing electricity since mid-April, and by the end of June the generation volumes totaled 0.445 TWh, i. e. 3.4 times more than in 2014 (0.130 TWh).
The growth in the net profit in June – January 2015 by 12.5 % has been determined by the result of the sales of the shares in Energijos Tiekimas UAB and Kauno Energetikos Remontas UAB.”
