Covisint to Speak on Connected Transportation Innovation at IoT Evolution Conference & Expo 2015

Will Also Highlight Benefits of Leveraging Purpose-built Cloud Platform to Enable the Internet of Things and Identity-centric Solutions

DETROIT, Aug. 17, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Covisint Corporation (Nasdaq:COVS), a leading cloud platform provider enabling the Internet of Things (IoT) and identity-centric solutions, today announced that David Miller, chief security officer at Covisint, will speak on the proliferation of connected transportation at the IoT Evolution Conference & Expo taking place August 17-20, 2015 in Las Vegas, NV.

During the panel titled "New Business Models for the OEM," Miller will join fellow connected transportation experts in examining how new business models are taking connectivity to new levels in the automotive world, and the impact those models will have on the industry. Specifically, the panel will address how these new services will affect the driving experience and vehicle-dependent businesses such as rental cars and taxis.

"Gartner predicts that 25 billion connected "things" will be in use by 2020, but what does this really mean for businesses moving forward?" said Miller. "The Internet of Things has become a powerful opportunity and obstacle for businesses large and small, and its effect will ripple across all industries. On the transportation side, cars, buses, trains, planes and even ships will need to address identity management and security challenges that lie ahead. We need to ensure vehicle architectures are able to communicate seamlessly with others in their ecosystem to ensure a safe and seamless operating experience."
