Investment Advisor Reveals 25th Annual Broker-Dealers of the Year

In Annual Voting by the Representatives of Independent Broker-Dealers, Reps Choose Prospera Financial, The Investment Center, American Portfolios and Cambridge Investment Research

NEW YORK, Aug. 27, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- ALM's Investment Advisor announced the results of its 25th annual readers' poll in which the representatives of independent broker-dealers chose the 2015 Broker-Dealers of the Year. This award marks another milestone in Investment Advisor's 35th year as The Voice of Independents.

"Independent broker-dealer reps are fiercely independent, which is why these honors are so noteworthy," said Jamie Green, editor of Investment Advisor. "It's the reps themselves who gave their broker-dealers their highest regard by voting for them."

In the annual balloting, thousands of reps of independent broker-dealers confirmed their choices of affiliation by giving high ratings to their own independent broker-dealers (BDs). Credentialed voters are asked to rate their own broker-dealers in 15 different areas of interest to independent reps on ThinkAdvisor.com; those BDs that receive the highest average rating from their reps are named Broker-Dealers of the Year in four divisions based on their number of producing reps.

The leaders of the 2015 Broker-Dealers of the Year gathered in Chicago earlier this month to discuss their firms, the challenges the entire independent broker-dealer industry faces and how they're prospering in a challenging market and regulatory environment. The results of that editorial roundtable will constitute the cover story in the September 2015 issue of Investment Advisor, and additional written and video content will be available on the 2015 Broker-Dealers of the Year home page on ThinkAdvisor.com.

The 2015 Broker-Dealers of the Year are:

Division IV (more than 1,000 representatives): Cambridge Investment Research. Led by Chairman and CEO Eric Schwartz and based in Fairfield, Iowa, Cambridge has now won eight times over the past 25 years.
