Sales in August

Baltika’s consolidated sales revenue for August totalled 3,984 thousand euros, decreasing by 19% compared to the same period last year. Decrease in revenue was caused by especially warm weather in this year August compared to usual and thus customers’ low interest in autumn collections.

Baltika’s retail sales for August decreased in the Baltic states by 15%, thereof decreased in Estonia by 9%, in Latvia by 24% and in Lithuania by 16%. In Russia, retail sales decreased by 56% compared to same period previous year. In local currency sales decreased in Russia by 37%. In the same period sales area in Russia decreased by 22%. Baltika’s consolidated retail sales revenue for August was 3,348 thousand euros, decreasing 23% compared to the same period last year.

At the end of August Baltika Group had 130 stores, among which franchise stores: 5 in Russia, 5 in Spain, 2 in Belarus and 15 in Ukraine. At the end of month there was 103 shops operated by Baltika, shops average month sales area decreased by 1% compared to the same period last year.

Wholesale increased by 10% compared to August in previous year, e-com sales increased over two times, i.e 104%.

Sales in August

Sales revenue for eight months totalled 34,533 thousand euros, decreasing 1% compared to the same period last year. Retail sales revenue was 30,157 thousand euros (-6% yoy), thereof the Baltic states sales increased by 2%. At the same period the Group’s average retail sales area decreased by 2%. Wholesale was 3,674 thousand euros (+36% yoy) and
e-com revenues 623 thousand euros (+235% yoy).

In connection with Baltika’s reorganisation of Ukrainian retail business and selling the company there (agreement was signed on 29 April 2014), the sales revenue of the Ukrainian entity is presented as discontinued operation. Sales announcement presents only the results of continuing operations unless indicated otherwise.
