NEW YORK, N.Y., Sept. 15, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- via PRWEB - Vector Marketing alum, record holder, and Silver Cup Champion Michael Arrieta rang the opening bell for the Nasdaq Stock Market on Sept. 8. He is co-founder of New Story, a non-profit organization that builds houses around the globe using money raised through crowdfunding. Along with New Story co-founders Brett Hagler, Matthew Marshall, and Alexandria Lafci, he visited the Nasdaq MarketSite in Times Square to open the stock market. Also on hand as an advisor was Michael Coscetta, a former Vector Marketing division manager and district manager who has reached Hall of Fame status within the company. Arrieta and Coscetta met through Vector Marketing and naturally connected through their interests in charity and philanthropy.

As a startup charity, New Story recently funded 105 homes in just 100 days in Leveque, Haiti. The charity was founded less than a year ago with the mission to transform tent slums into sustainable communities around the world.

"With committed partners like Nasdaq, New Story will able to fund many more life-saving homes for families across the world," said Arrieta. "The entire experience, from arriving at Times Square to opening the stock market, was a dream come true."

Be on the lookout for New Story and their upcoming plans to create more sustainable communities around the world.

Arrieta was a successful sales rep for Vector Marketing, the marketing and sales arm of Cutco Cutlery, from 2005-2009. While there, he was able to pay his way through college by breaking numerous sales records. He was the youngest sales professional to become a Silver Cup Champion, the highest award Vector grants to top sales producers.

"Vector Marketing was the best platform I could have asked for to start my career. The foundation they provided taught me the true basics of sales," he said. "Vector offered numerous resources, such as how to build rapport, create a thorough business plan, manage time, and set and accomplish aggressive sales goals. Vector has helped shaped my career and future success."

It was an added bonus that Vector Marketing is highly involved with charitable services and non-profit organizations which Arrieta also strongly valued.
