Nexam Chemical has been granted SEK 2.4 million in development funding

Eurostars and Vinnova have granted Nexam Chemical SEK 2.4 million in funding for
a development project on new polymeric materials and production processes, with
intended use in for instance thin shell applications and as metal replacement.
It is a joint project together with two European partners.
The current project (MATPAX) runs over a period of 24 months with a total budget
of EUR 1.4 million and aims to develop new polymeric materials and manufacturing
processes that will allow production of, for instance thin shell or metal
replacement parts. In connection with the Eurostars* evaluation of the project,
the MATPAX-project was ranked number seven out of 230 proposals. In addition to
Nexam Chemical, who is the project coordinator, the project also involves two
European partners who are specialists in polyamide resins and development of
injection molding technology, respectively. Nexam Chemical has entered into a
consortium agreement with these two parties.

"It is very encouraging that Nexam Chemical once again managed to get such high
ranking by Eurostars. There is great interest from many industries for new
materials with improved process-ability and higher performance. We look forward
to further develop Nexam Chemicals technology for this type of applications."
says Nexam Chemicals CTO Dane Momcilovic.

*Eurostars is a joint EU initiative between EUREKA and the EU's Eighth Framework
Programme for Research and Technological Development (Horizon 2020). The purpose
is to provide funding for applied research and development with a focus on
commercialization for small- and medium-sized enterprises.

Vinnova is Sweden’s innovation agency which mission is to promote sustainable

About Nexam Chemical
Nexam Chemical develops technology and products that make it possible to
significantly improve the production process and properties of most types of
plastics in a cost-effective manner and with retained production technology. The
improved properties include strength, toughness, temperature and chemical
resistance as well as service life. The improvements in properties that can be
achieved by using Nexam Chemical's technology make it possible to replace metals
and other heavier or more expensive materials with plastics in a number of
applications. In applications where plastic is already used, Nexam Chemicals
products can improve the manufacturing process, reducing material use and enable
more environmental friendly alternatives. Example of commercial applications:
pipe manufacturing, foam production and high-performance plastics. More
