Nasdaq Commodities is proud to announce that our Seafood offering has reached a quarterly volume record with total cleared volumes of Salmon Futures amounting to 32 094 tonnes in Q3, 2015.

We have also seen the highest weekly volumes traded so far in 2015 with 4785 tonnes cleared in week 49. In addition, the very first CAL17 contract was cleared during the same week, seeing three trades and a total of 2400 lots cleared at NOK 41.50 at the highest.

Knut Rabbe, Head of Commodities Sales Europe, says: “We are very pleased with this increase in volumes as well as the market interest and efforts in building and developing the seafood market. We are very content with the current developments and look forward to seeing our offering evolving in the times ahead.”

Nasdaq offers clearing of salmon derivatives and the clearing services can be accessed by all Nasdaq Financials and Commodities Markets. The salmon derivatives are in compliance with the current regulatory requirements and settled against the underlying index for fresh superior Atlantic salmon, head on gutted. Nasdaq Commodities’ salmon offering is part of Nasdaq’s overall commodities strategy to leverage its best in class technology platform and expand its presence globally.
