Smithfield Foods, licensee of Nathan's Famous pre-packaged hot dogs, announced today that the world-famous hot dog company treated the members of the Clarence Fraim Boys & Girls Club to a Coney Island-themed afternoon, complete with carnival games such as pop-a-shot and skee-ball, a miniature three-horse carousel, a Zoltar® Fortune Teller coupon machine, a two-story tall slide and, most of all, Nathan's Famous Premium Beef Hot Dogs.

The famous No. 43 Richard Petty Motorsports Ford, which will be at Dover International Speedway this weekend, was also on hand for children of all ages to simulate driving around the Monster Mile.

Commemorating the achievements of the Clarence Fraim Boys & Girls Club, Nathan's Famous surprised Rachel Kane, Executive Director of the Clarence Fraim Club, with a $1,000 ACME gift card to be used towards the purchase of groceries for the Club, courtesy of Nathan's Famous. ACME provided all of the hot dog buns, snacks, and water to support the Nathan's Famous Play Day.

"The group that really needs food is our teenagers, and having food available for them will encourage them to come and help keep them off the streets," said Kane. "This is so great. Thanks to Nathan's and ACME. I was watching some of the kid's faces as they came out back because we kept the Nathan's Famous Play Day a surprise for them, and you could really feel the impact it made based on their excited screams!"

"Active play, and a well-balanced diet, is extremely important for children and their development, and the Clarence Fraim Boys & Girls Club puts forth an incredible amount of work to keep Wilmington's youth active, 365 days a year," said Mike Paribello, Sr. Director of Marketing, Smithfield Foods. "Nathan's Famous is extremely proud of our partnerships with KaBOOM! and the impact it has not only on local communities, but the individual kids who benefit from these playground builds."

KaBOOM! partnered with the Clarence Fraim Boys & Girls Club in 2010 to build its playground.

Nathan's Famous was founded almost 100 years ago in Coney Island, a popular New York City amusement and leisure destination. Nathan's Famous prides itself on its great quality, unmistakable taste, and a passion for family fun and community support.
