Matrix Medical Network Completes ICD-10 Transition

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Oct. 05, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Matrix Medical Network® (Matrix), the leading provider of in-home assessments and care management, announced the successful implementation and transition to ICD-10.

Over the last year, Matrix has worked diligently to ensure all aspects of its business are ICD-10 compliant and make implementation as seamless as possible for its clients. In preparation for this transition, all Matrix Certified Professional Coders have been fully trained and are certified in ICD-10 and extensive enhancements were made to Matrix’s proprietary coding and billing systems to support the new advanced coding classification.

“We are fully operational in ICD-10 and it was smooth and uneventful transition,” said Matrix’s Chief Operations Officer Wyatt Campbell. “This updated approach will provide health plans with greater clarity around the health and condition of their members, allowing them to better align care and support.”

The ICD-10 codes, the tenth revision of the International Classification of Diseases, are used to classify diagnoses and procedures in the billing process. This new code set will incorporate greater specificity and clinical information to classify a patient’s health, which will improve the ability to measure healthcare services. In addition, ICD-10 is more comprehensive and has expandable features that will allow for updated medical terminology, new disease progression and can help to better coordinate a patient’s care across providers and over time.
