NCC wins order in Turku from University Properties of Finland

NCC is to build a new combined school, research, and hospital building in Turku
for University Properties of Finland. The order is worth SEK 560 million.
“The new building, Medisiina D, will be a flexible and adaptable educational and
work environment of a completely new kind. The premises will easily adapt to the
needs of different user groups. In this way, we can ensure that we maintain a
high utilization rate,” says Aki Havia, Director of Real-Estate Development at
University Properties of Finland.

Medisiina will be used for educational, research and diagnostic purposes. The
users of the premises will include the University of Turku, the Hospital
District of Southwest Finland, the Turku University of Applied Sciences and the
National Institute for Health and Welfare. The building will have a total area
of about 26,000 square meters, including the basement.

“We are pleased to have been entrusted to build Medisiina in Turku, which will
benefit several different user groups. Building innovative and efficient
solutions is in line with NCC’s vision, namely to renew the industry and provide
superior sustainable solutions,” says Esa Lehmusvuori Regional Manager at NCC
Construction Finland.

Construction starts in October 2015 and will employ about 120 people. The
building is scheduled for completion in December 2017. The order will be
registered in the fourth quarter of 2015 in the NCC Construction Finland
business area.
