mhca To Host Fall Innovation Incubator Aimed At Getting "Up Close & Personal" With Accountable Care Organizations

GETTYSBURG, Pa., Oct. 30, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On November 3rd, Mental Health Corporations of America (mhca) is hosting its fall Innovation Incubator and quarterly meeting for organizations in the behavioral health industry. This quarter's Innovation Incubator is focusing on getting up close and personal with accountable care organizations (ACOs). This session will give behavioral health organizations the background and insights needed to successfully work with ACOs in their area.

"Working with ACOs hasn't been an easy task for many behavioral health provider organizations, as we have seen in a recent survey of our members. Because of this and behavioral health treatment still evolving in ACO systems, we have aimed to equip behavioral health provider organizations with the knowledge needed to develop and maintain successful working relationships with ACOs in their area," said Dale Shreve, chief executive officer of mhca. "In order to do this, we have brought in ACO executives and behavioral health provider organizations who are successfully working with ACOs to share their insights and experiences on working together."

The meeting will kick off with an overview of ACOs in the United States given by Monica Oss, chief executive officer of OPEN MINDS. This overview will be followed by a panel discussion featuring:

  • John Woods, chief executive officer, The Physician's Accountable Care Organization
  • Dale Klatzker, president of The Providence Center
  • Deb O'Brien, vice president and chief operating officer, The Providence Center
  • Rick Weaver, chief executive officer, Central Washington Comprehensive Mental Health

The discussion will highlight the challenges and opportunities involved with the evolving relationships between ACOs and behavioral health provider organizations. The session will conclude with time for questions and discussion with our speakers and the audience.
