The Cobra Experience to Host 17th Annual Shelby American Employees Reunion on Nov. 7th

Legends in Racing History Rekindle Old Friendships From the 60s Hey-Day of Shelby American

MARTINEZ, CA--(Marketwired - Oct 30, 2015) - The Cobra Experience, a non-profit museum committed to the promotion, conservation, education and preservation of the cars produced by Shelby American in the 1960s, will host the 17th Annual Shelby American Employees Reunion on Saturday, November 7, 2015.

Over 50 former employees of Shelby American, Inc. are coming to Martinez from across the country to rekindle old friendships made back in the 60s. Former mechanics, drivers, shop workers, craftsmen, managers and staff will be in attendance. Bob Bondurant, Allen Grant, John Morton, Peter Brock, Chuck Cantwell, among many others, will be reunited with the men and women that built the cars and kept the Shelby American drivers at the front of the pack. Stories and memories will be shared at the dinner tables.

The venue is The Cobra Experience museum located at 777 Arnold Drive, Martinez, CA. The museum houses an extensive collection of race and street Cobras, Mustangs, a Mark IV GT-40, Continuation Daytona Coupe, the prototype Sunbeam Tiger, original and related equipment from the Shelby American workshop and original art and artifacts from the period. The hey-day of Shelby American in Los Angeles was from 1962 to 1968, and the focused time period of The Cobra Experience.

"We're thrilled to host this exclusive event. These cars can't talk, but this special group of men and women were there and living history will be in the room. The cars will certainly have a voice at the event," said Drew Serb, visionary and curator behind The Cobra Experience. "This may very well be the last time these folks will all be together to celebrate the contributions they made in racing history. The attendance of employees and their families is turning out to be record-setting. We will celebrate not just the employees, but those that help to further the spirit of The Cobra Experience," said Emily Lambert, Managing Director at The Cobra Experience.

Limited reservations for the event doubling as a fundraiser for the museum to include dinner, a silent auction and plenty of time to rub elbows with the legends of Shelby American are available at www.cobraexperience.org.
