InterCloud Simplifies Private Cloud Deployments With Hyper Converged Stack (DPoD)

DPoD Integrated Stack Includes Compute, Storage, Networking and Fully-Automated Orchestration

SHREWSBURY, N.J., Nov. 03, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- InterCloud Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ:ICLD), a leading provider of cloud networking orchestration, automation solutions and services, today launched DPoD, a hyper-converged private/hybrid cloud solution. InterCloud’s hyper-converged solution includes Juniper Networks industry-leading routing, switching, security and Juniper Networks Contrail Networking SDN solution.

This open architecture solution is based on Ubuntu’s OpenStack platform. DPoD provides all of the attributes of a public cloud offering, including reduced CAPEX and greater elasticity and scalability in a dedicated private cloud environment. DPoD can be deployed within InterCloud’s data centers or on customer premises. In addition to compute and storage resources, DPoD is fully-enabled with SDN and NFV to leverage software-based network appliances.

InterCloud has developed its own Network Function Virtualization orchestration (NFVo), called NFVgrid, to manage virtual network functions. NFVgrid is integrated with a powerful analytics engine to analyze real-time traffic and provides the data and analytics information necessary to make business-critical decisions.  In addition to the support of virtual network functions, NFVgrid also supports a container-based architecture.

InterCloud has also developed an application automation platform, which is completely based on an open architecture. The system includes north and sound-bound APIs to integrate with OpenStack and existing OSS/BSS. In order to meet customers’ specific requirements, DPoD is shipping in three sizes (quarter, half and full-cabinet) designated as DPoD 100, 200 and 300.  The solution also gives customers the flexibility to procure in either an OPEX or CAPEX model. From an investment perspective, DPoD's monthly subscription cost is 60 percent to 70 percent that of major public cloud providers.

“DPoD’s hyper converged approach allows users to experience all of the benefits of a public cloud without the risk – at a price point that’s significantly lower than that offered by public cloud providers,” said Frank Jadevaia, president of InterCloud. “Leveraging Juniper Networks Contrail Networking allows us to build a truly open solution that delivers the scale, security and performance our customers expect.  DPoD is truly a ‘cloud in a box,’ that brings everything together, including a full multi-vendor professional services experience.”
