InterDigital Partners With Plug & Play Startup Accelerator

WILMINGTON, Del., Nov. 04, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- InterDigital, Inc. (NASDAQ:IDCC), a mobile technology research and development company, today announced that the company partnered with Plug & Play, LLC startup accelerator, focusing on their Internet of Things (IoT) and other relevant programs, to engage with startups aligning with their developing technology initiatives.

Plug & Play is a startup accelerator bringing together a round-table of complementary partners to guide the direction of the program and help decide which startups are accepted to their accelerator program.

The 12-week program is designed for early and growth stage startups. Qualified companies are developing solutions in areas like wearable computing, augmented reality, robotics, healthcare & wellbeing, unmanned aerial vehicles (non-military), gaming, smart connected car and smart connected home. Through tailored deal flow, themed workshops, and face-to-face interaction, Plug & Play IoT enables corporations to engage with startups that may complement their respective suite of offerings or create new potential revenue streams. Startups accepted into the program receive funding from Plug & Play Ventures, weekly mentor sessions with industry thought-leaders, and opportunities for potential pilot projects, all culminating at the Plug & Play quarterly demo day.

“This collaboration underscores our commitment as a mobile technology leader to the further development of the technology ecosystem and provides an opportunity to leverage the global talent pool Plug & Play gathers,” said James Nolan, Executive Vice President, InterDigital Solutions. “We look forward to engaging with new companies that will potentially transform mobile technology innovation and we are excited to offer our solutions to the startups in this ecosystem to further accelerate their growth.”

"We are extremely excited to bring on InterDigital as a strategic partner for our IoT Innovation Platform. Their domain expertise in wireless and mobile communication technologies will bring tremendous value to the startups that enter our program," said Michael Olmstead, Vice President, Corporate Partnerships, Plug & Play.
