The Madison Square Garden Company Appoints Colin Ingram Executive Vice President of MSG Productions


NEW YORK, Nov. 5, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Madison Square Garden Company (NYSE:MSG) today announced that Colin Ingram has been named executive vice president of MSG Productions. Mr. Ingram, a distinguished entertainment executive with more than two decades of experience in developing and managing theatrical productions, will join MSG after serving as CEO of Colin Ingram Limited, an independent theatre production company, which he founded 10 years ago.

As EVP of MSG Productions, Mr. Ingram will be responsible for directing all aspects of MSG's original productions and entertainment franchises, as well as for identifying and developing compelling new franchises. Specifically, this includes overseeing the business strategy for both the beloved Radio City Christmas Spectacular and Rockettes New York Spectacular; creating and implementing new proprietary productions and events for MSG venues; evaluating opportunities for the presentation of MSG's productions and events in other markets; and exploring new ways to expand the legendary Rockettes brand. He is expected to join the company in the next several weeks and will report to MSG president and CEO, David O'Connor.

Mr. Ingram has served as founder and CEO of Colin Ingram Limited, a leading, London-based theatre producer and general manager that actively worked in the United States, SE Asia and Europe. During the company's 10 years, Mr. Ingram consulted on the Australia and New York productions of "Billy Elliot" for the Old Vic Theatre Company. He also produced "Movin' Out" in London with IP Live PLC, before serving as lead producer and general manager of the London production of "Gone With The Wind" directed by Trevor Nun, as well as the London and Broadway productions of "Breakfast At Tiffany's." Over the last nine years, Mr. Ingram developed and served as lead producer for "Ghost - The Musical" directed by Matthew Warchus, which opened in London in 2011, and then on Broadway in 2012, before going on to play in more than 10 countries.   Mr. Ingram and his company also co-produced the Ghost - The Musical Cast album with Dave Stewart and Glen Ballard, establishing the record label and overseeing distribution. "Ghost" has been nominated for five Olivier Awards, including Best Musical and three Tony Awards.

Prior to starting his own company, Mr. Ingram served as executive producer of the Old Vic Theatre Company (OVTC) and Old Vic Productions (OVP). In addition to managing the day-to-day operations of OVP and OVTC, Mr. Ingram worked as executive producer for Kevin Spacey, who had been appointed the Theatre's first Artistic Director. Those productions included: "Cloaca," "Aladdin" with Ian McKellan, "National Anthems," "Philadelphia Story," and "Richard II". He also served as an executive producer on "Billy Elliot," Trevor Nunn's "Hamlet" starring Ben Wishaw, and "Vagina Monologues."

Before joining the Old Vic, Mr. Ingram was general manager and managing director of Disney Theatrical in London, overseeing "Lion King" in the West End and the UK Tour of "Beauty And The Beast." Mr. Ingram started his professional career in theatre at Cameron Mackintosh Limited, one of the world's leading theatre producers, where as the production administrator of "Les Miserables" in London, he led the organization of the 10th Anniversary Concert at the Royal Albert Hall. He then worked for six years as general manager of the UK Tours of "Les Miserables" and "Phantom Of The Opera," as well as the West End transfer of the RNT's "Oklahoma!," starring Hugh Jackman, and "Witches of Eastwick," starring Ian McShane.

Mr. Ingram received a Bachelor of Laws degree from Edinburgh University, and a Master of Science in International Banking and Financial Studies from Heriot-Watt University, before qualifying as a Chartered Accountant at PWC in Edinburgh. During his time at Edinburgh, he produced and directed musicals and plays at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, founding the Edinburgh University Footlights, which is now in its 24th year.

Mr. Ingram is also Non-Executive Director of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo.
