Human Capital Institute to Host Third Annual Global Workforce Planning Week

Organization Brings Strategic Workforce Planning Certification Course and 2016 Workforce Planning and Analytics Conference to Atlanta

NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwired - Nov 10, 2015) - Human Capital Institute (HCI), the global association for strategic talent management, today announced that it will hold its third annual Global Workforce Planning Week in Atlanta. Taking place Monday, February 8 through Friday, February 12, 2016 at the Loews Atlanta Hotel, the event aims to provide attendees with the best practices to optimize their workforce planning strategies and help their organizations thrive.

"Workforce planning is one of the most crucial skills needed among HR professionals today; with an understanding of current and future talent gaps, companies can achieve greater alignment between employees and business strategy," said Carl Rhodes, HCI's chief executive officer. "Though most organizations recognize the need for a new approach to workforce planning, few have the right strategy in place to ensure successful outcomes. Our 2016 Global Workforce Planning Week is designed to demystify the process and provide attendees with insights and knowledge to get planning right."

In today's complex and rapidly changing business environment, the ability to respond dynamically to new information and insights, while gaining the support of important stakeholders across the organization, provides a significant competitive advantage. Key to achieving this goal is having a firm grasp of workforce planning that leads to optimal organizational alignment and workforce strategy. When the process is enhanced by robust data analytics, companies can take an integrated approach to workforce planning that delivers meaningful results across recruiting, learning, development and leadership.

To help HR leaders and practitioners understand how they can take a more modern and effective approach to workforce planning, HCI will host two events as part of its 2016 Global Workforce Planning Week: the Strategic Workforce Planning Certification course and the 2016 Workforce Planning and Analytics Conference.

Strategic Workforce Planning Certification Course

HCI's 2016 Global Workforce Planning Week begins with its Strategic Workforce Planning Certification course, which will take place on Monday February 8 and Tuesday, February 9. The course goes far beyond traditional headcount planning and scheduling to provide attendees with a qualitative decision framework that aligns workforce variables with their broader organizational strategy. Participants will gain the knowledge and best practices needed to determine the most critical competencies for high performance and growth, develop the agility to respond to rapid change with comprehensive contingency planning, and identify and execute against specific workforce, management and leadership gaps.

Upon completing the course, participants will achieve HCI's Strategic Workforce Planning Certification, the most widely recognized business credential for knowledge of strategic workforce planning models and concepts. They will also return to their organizations with the proven workforce planning practices to drive forward key business objectives.

2016 Workforce Planning and Analytics Conference

Taking place Wednesday, February 10 through Friday, February 12, HCI's 2016 Workforce Planning and Analytics Conference will explore why companies today need adept workforce planning and analytics to remain competitive in an aggressive business climate. Participants will learn how companies can continuously refine their workforce plans, use analytics to make more informed and nimble talent decisions and implement the right cross-functional knowledge and partnerships to ensure an effective approach to workforce planning.

The event includes informative sessions and keynotes led by thought leaders in the workforce planning space who will provide attendees with crucial insights on how to create, embed and sustain an agile talent strategy that fits within their organizations. Among the experts giving keynotes include Sarbari Basu, HR operational excellence & workforce planning leader for Cummins Inc.; Uzma S. Burki, chief human resource officer for Battelle; and Anthony Walter, director of Workforce Analytics for Gap Inc.

HCI's 2016 Workforce Planning and Analytics Conference is made possible by the contributions of many underwriters, including:
