WATERTOWN, Mass., Nov. 10, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Exergen Corporation, headquartered in Watertown, MA, has filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court of Massachusetts against Microlife Corporation of Taipei, Taiwan, the manufacturer of the Vicks Forehead Thermometer and the Braun Forehead Thermometer, alleging that Microlife has infringed United States Patent No. 7,346,386 (‘386 patent) owned by Exergen. The lawsuit alleges that Defendant Microlife has made infrared thermometers that infringe the ‘386 patent and caused such thermometers to be used, offered for sale, and sold in the United States. Thermometers sold by Kaz USA, Inc, under the name Vicks Forehead Thermometer and Braun Forehead Thermometer have been accused of infringement. Kaz USA, Inc. is a subsidiary of Helen of Troy, Ltd. of Hamilton Bermuda.
