Caverion to carry out the total delivery of building systems for the Töölönkatu car park in Helsinki
Caverion has made an agreement with Töölönkadun Pysäköintilaitos Oy for the total delivery of building systems for the Töölö car park. The value of the delivery is approximately EUR 4.6 million. The car park is a joint project of Taitokaari Oy and Vantum Oy. Caverion is responsible for designing and implementing the car park's building systems, as well as for managing the project. The building systems encompass heating, sanitation, ventilation, air conditioning, electricity, automation and sprinkler systems.
"The Töölö car park will increase comfort and convenience in the district. As a native of Töölö district, I am happy that we are also able to promote the green angle of this," says Marjaana Satuli, who is responsible for investor agreements at Taitokaari Group.
"The project will utilise energy-efficient solutions, such as recovering waste heat: heat in outgoing air is recovered by the ventilation system and reused for heating. Safety issues are of special concern and we will deliver access control, video surveillance and automatic fire extinguishing systems, among others, " says Jarno Hacklin, Division Manager from Caverion Finland.
Construction work for the car park will begin before the end of 2015. The construction project is the responsibility of YIT. When construction is complete in spring 2019, the car park will provide approximately 800 parking spaces. The main investor in the Töölö car park is Fennia Life Insurance Company Ltd and other investors include the pension fund of Yle, the Finnish national broadcaster. The new parking facility will accelerate the development of the Töölö district from the perspectives of residents, companies and services. The design of the car park is integrated into the Pisararata rail project: if the rail connection is built, the car park will provide an easy underground link between different modes of transport.
