IPC Healthcare Expands Post-Acute Market Presence in the Greater Kansas City Metropolitan Area

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Nov. 19, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- IPC Healthcare, Inc. (Nasdaq:IPCM), a leading national acute hospitalist and post-acute provider organization, announced today that it has acquired Heartland Geriatrics, LLC, in Overland Park, Kansas. The acquisition complements IPC's existing market presence for acute and post-acute services in the Kansas City area.

Commenting on the acquisition, owner Charles Davis, M.D., said, "We are excited to join forces with an organization that will invest in our practice for continuous growth in the post-acute market. It is increasingly difficult for independent groups to meet all of the new demands of value-based care, and joining IPC ensures that we will be solid and stable, despite the uncertainties of the healthcare marketplace today. The company has long been recognized as a physician-centric organization that values its clinicians. As part of IPC, we believe our ability to continue to deliver high-quality and cost-effective care will be further enhanced."

R. Jeffrey Taylor, president and COO of IPC Healthcare, stated, "Dr. Davis and his team have a well-established reputation in the Kansas City market, and we are excited about the expansion into 30 new post-acute facilities. Our shared commitment to improving the health of patients, as well as the dedication to excellence of Dr. Davis's practice, align perfectly with IPC's culture."

This acquisition is expected to add more than 15,000 encounters on a combined annualized basis.
