“In a constantly evolving marketplace, every organization hopes to have the edge by attracting and engaging top talent. At Marriott, we believe that promoting wellbeing and ensuring everyone has access to opportunity is the most powerful way to cultivate an inspired workforce and to deliver exceptional customer experiences,” said David Rodriguez, Executive Vice President and Global Chief Human Resources Officer, Marriott International. “All of our associates and guests must feel equally valued, safe and respected at every Marriott property around the world. This recognition from the Human Rights Campaign affirms that we are moving in the right direction to provide truly inclusive experiences on our journey to becoming the world’s most favorite travel company.”

Along with Marriott’s longstanding commitment to inclusive human resource policies, the perfect CEI rating also acknowledges the company’s public commitment to advancing LGBT equality.  This year, Marriott joined with other business leaders to sign the historic amicus brief urging the U.S. Supreme Court to adopt full recognition of marriage rights for same-sex couples. In addition, this past year, Marriott played a public leadership role in opposing anti-LGBT legislation that surfaced in Indiana and Georgia among other states.
