Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC Announces the Investigation of Roadrunner Transportation Systems - RRTS

WASHINGTON, Dec. 16, 2015 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC is conducting an investigation to determine whether Roadrunner Transportation Systems, Inc. (“Roadrunner” or the “Company”) and certain of its officers and directors made false and misleading statements and/or omissions in violation of Sections 10(b) and 20(a) of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.

A class action lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York by another law firm on behalf of purchasers of the common stock of Roadrunner Transportation Systems, Inc. (NYSE:RRTS) between July 30, 2015 and October 26, 2015, inclusive (the “Class Period”).

The complaint alleges that Roadrunner and certain of its officers and directors (“Defendants”) misrepresented and/or failed to disclose that: (1) the avian flu epidemic would have an adverse impact on Roadrunner’s financial condition; and (2) as a result, the Company’s statements about its business, operations, and prospects were materially false and misleading.

The claims in this case followed Roadrunner’s significant reduction of the third quarter revenue and earnings guidance that Defendants issued at the start of the Class Period, as well as the Company’s issuance of weaker-than-expected fourth quarter guidance, attributed in part to the avian flu epidemic. The price of Roadrunner shares fell from $17.67 to $9.34 on October 27, 2015, in extremely heavy trading.

Cohen Milstein encourages all investors who purchased Roadrunner common stock between July 30, 2015 and October 26, 2015 or former employees with information concerning this matter to contact the firm.
