GYENNO Launches Health Tech Gadgets: Smart SPOON and FORK Counteract Parkinson's Hand Tremors; Smart CUP Tells You When to Drink

GYENNNO Combines Big Data and IoT in a Suite of Medical and Health Tech Products

LAS VEGAS, NV--(Marketwired - Jan 6, 2016) - CES, Booth 73553, Tech West, Sands Expo, Level 2 -- Technology merges with health, big data and the Internet of Things in products being launched by GYENNO. The company is launching the only Smart SPOON and FORK which counteract hand tremors from Parkinson's Disease and other conditions by keeping the utensil steady and collects data in the cloud about the patient's tremors. The GYENNO Smart CUP is the only interactive cup featuring an LCD screen, is washable and provides user feedback. The solutions integrate sensors along with data about certain health conditions and sophisticated algorithms. GYENNO products have won 3 design awards: Red Star Design Award; Golden PIN Design Award; and SZIDF Design Award.

Between Parkinson's Disease which is estimated to affect 7 million or more people worldwide and a neurological condition called Essential Tremors which is even more prevalent, many tens of millions of people worldwide suffer from shaky hands making it extremely difficult to hold a utensil and eat without spilling. Embarrassing and frustrating, this shaky grip can strip away a person's independence. However, the GYENNO Smart SPOON and FORK with its ergonomic grip senses the tremor and uses robot technology both up and down and side to side to counteract the tremor and keep the food on the utensil. The utensils are capable of offsetting 85% of unwanted tremors. (Video here)

This smart tableware is the first medical-grade product from GYENNO. Designed to help patients with tremors as well as inform their doctors and scientists, the GYENNO SPOON and FORK collect data about the tremors which is then stored in the cloud so the device 'learns' more about the tremor. It can then improve its algorithm so its ability to counteract tremors improves. Plus, the cloud-stored data can be shared with scientists to create a database of tremor information.

"Having hand tremors is very debilitating and the GYENNO Smart SPOON and FORK can make life much easier and less stressful for millions of people worldwide suffering from the problem. And by collecting data on the tremors, the SPOON improves its stability and doctors and scientists can learn more about these conditions," said Kang Ren, CEO, GYENNO Technologies.

The GYENNO Smart CUP is the only washable smart cup with a built-in LCD screen to provide continuous feedback to users about how much liquid has been consumed, reminders about how often to drink, the temperature of the liquid and basic data about weather and time. The CUP allows users to create custom drinking plans (how much, how frequently), provides friendly reminders and because it is a connected device, it provides notes and reminders so users stay properly hydrated.

"Dehydration is a serious medical condition and particularly risky for young children, older adults and athletes. The GYENNO Smart CUP helps you stay properly hydrated all the time," said Ren. "The CUP alerts you with vibrations or flashing lights if the liquid has been sitting too long or may be too hot."

Both the GYENNO Smart SPOON and FORK (sold as a set) will be available in January on Amazon. The Smart SPOON and FORK set costs $299. The Smart CUP will be coming to Amazon soon (available first in China) and will sell for $70-$100. GYENNO also offers a smartphone app which works with the SPOON and CUP.
