Lice Clinics of America Opens New Treatment Center in North Gwinnett

Clinic provides guaranteed, one-and-done lice treatments using FDA-cleared medical device

SUWANEE, Ga., Jan. 13, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Head lice infamously cause stress, disgust and embarrassment for millions of moms whose kids get infested each year. But thanks to the opening of a new Lice Clinics of America clinic, moms in the North Gwinnett area no longer have to worry about treating the icky bugs themselves.

Lice Clinics of America provides screening, diagnosis and treatment options for people infested with head lice. The clinic is staffed by certified operators of the AirAllé device, an FDA-cleared medical device that kills head lice and lice eggs using just heated air.

The clinic is owned by Greg Tyner, a serial entrepreneur. Tyner's family got lice during a vacation to Florida. After getting treated at a Lice Clinics of America clinic in Jacksonville, Tyner decided to open up a clinic to serve the families of Gwinnett, Fulton and Northeast Atlanta.

"The reason we can do a one-and-done treatment is because of the effectiveness of the AirAllé device, particularly when it comes to lice eggs, which are the hardest to kill," said Tyner. "In clinical trials, the device killed 99.2 percent of lice eggs in a single treatment. That's a higher percentage than any other lice product on the U.S. market, based on clinical trials."

Tyner said he is seeing a big increase in lice among students from middle school, high school and college. "Most of them are trying RID or Nix for weeks or months and getting frustrated that they aren't working because of the lice resistance. Now they can come to us where we'll guarantee their lice treatment in a single visit."

Tyner said his clinic recently treated a family of 11 that had been struggling with a lice infestation. "It makes you feel really good helping a family out like that," he said.

Lice Clinics of America, which opened its doors last month, is located at 1110 Satellite Blvd., Suite 203 in Suwanee. The clinic is open 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1-5 p.m. on Sundays. AirAllé treatments there take about an hour, and come with a 30-day guarantee.

The Suwanee clinic is one of 90 U.S. clinics in the Lice Clinics of America network.

With 90 U.S. clinics and 80 international clinics, Lice Clinics of America is the largest network of professional head-lice-treatment centers in the world. Lice Clinics of America and AirAllé are brands owned by Larada Sciences, Inc.
