Hill Country Telephone Cooperative to Implement COPsync911™ at Seven Locations in Texas

DALLAS, Jan. 26, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- COPsync, Inc. (NASDAQ:COYN), which operates the nation’s largest law enforcement real-time, in-car information sharing, communication and data interoperability network, announced today that the Hill Country Telephone Cooperative (HCTC), will implement the COPsync911™ threat-alert system at seven of its locations in Texas. The Company expects to complete the system installation in the coming weeks.

The HCTC is a member-owned telecommunications cooperative based in the Texas Hill Country providing local and long-distance telephone service, high-speed broadband, data storage and cloud services, online security software, business and consumer web hosting, and business telephone systems.

Through the COPsync911 threat-alert service, officers receive the threat-alerts directly to the computers in their patrol cars during a crisis situation. They can then immediately access a map to see the location of the building under threat, and view a diagram of the building’s interior so no time is wasted determining the exact location of the threat. Employees, the responding officers and the local dispatcher communicate about the incident as it unfolds via a “Crisis Communications Portal.” Thus, when arriving on the scene, officers are equipped with up-to-the-minute situational information, which helps them develop an effective tactical response plan. The COPsync911 threat-alert system can save minutes when seconds count.

Ronald A. Woessner, CEO of COPsync stated, “We are pleased to have added the Hill Country Telephone Cooperative as a new telecommunications customer for our COPsync911 threat-alert system. We believe that COPsync911 is a valuable protection service for businesses as well as for schools, government buildings, energy centers, hospitals and other potentially at-risk facilities. We look forward to making further inroads in the business vertical in the coming quarters as we move forward with our nationwide rollout. The HCTC now joins the growing family of COPsync911 locations across Texas, Louisiana, and New England -- that are part of the COPsync911 network and prioritize the safety of their employees and customers.”

Craig Cook, Chief Operating Officer of HCTC said, “The COPsync911 alert system is designed to help us deal with a broad range of situations that could occur in any of our customer-facing locations, including violent incidents, urgent medical situations, and fires. The system may also mitigate our legal liability should a tragedy occur. The greatest asset we have is our cooperative members and we want to ensure their safety, as well as the safety of our employees. We believe COPsync911 helps us achieve that goal.”

About COPsync, Inc.

COPsync, Inc. (COYN) is a technology company that improves communication between and among law enforcement officers and agencies from differing jurisdictions to help them prevent and respond more quickly to crime. The COPsync Network™ connects law enforcement officers and agencies to a common communications system, which gives officers instant access to actionable, mission-critical data and enables them to share information and communicate in real-time with other officers and agencies, even those hundreds and thousands of miles away. The Network's companion, COPsync911™ threat-alert system, enables schools, courts, hospitals, government buildings, energy, telecommunications and other potentially at-risk facilities to automatically and silently send threat-alerts directly to local law enforcement officers in their patrol cars in the event of a crisis, thereby speeding first responder response times and saving minutes when seconds count.
