Nine Teachers of the Year to be Honored by The Suburban Collection

TROY, Mich., Feb. 08, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- The Suburban Collection today announced details of their 2016 “Teacher of the Year” awards program.

The Troy, Michigan based automotive group began honoring outstanding teachers in 2002 in communities where they do business.  This year they will award no-cost vehicle leases to the top educators in nine school systems.  The first Teacher of the Year to be honored this year will be announced by the Troy School District on February 11.

In addition to Troy, The Suburban Collection will award no-cost vehicle leases to the Teachers of the Year in the following school districts:  Farmington Hills, Utica, Novi, Waterford, Clarkston, Birmingham and Ferndale, as well as to the Educator of the Year at Cranbrook Schools.

“Educators are tremendously important to all of us as they do so much to teach and inspire our children,” said David T. Fischer, Jr., General Manager of The Suburban Collection.  “Our program of rewarding outstanding educators has expanded over the years.  It is our way of saying thank you and giving something back to the men and women who have contributed so much to the development and accomplishments of our children.”

The teachers chosen by their school system as “Teacher of the Year” will select a vehicle from a list provided by The Suburban Collection dealership in their community.  The no-cost lease provides them with a new vehicle for a two year period.
