AFOP Announces Patent Grant from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on Multi-Mode Tap Filters for High-Speed Data Communications


SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 16, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Alliance Fiber Optic Products, Inc. (NASDAQ:AFOP), an innovative supplier of fiber optic components, subsystems, and integrated modules for the optical network equipment market, today announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (“USPTO”) has granted two patents in the company’s Tap Filter technology portfolio. The two patents, U.S. Patent No. 9,182,550 and 9,188,744, cover designs for power splitting without dispersion, for high-speed data communications in both Unidirectional and Bi-directional applications. AFOP’s patented Multi-Mode Tap technology addresses the increasing Data Center needs for high-speed and cost-effective optical power monitoring.
