LONDON, March 30, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dow Jones today announced the appointment of Michael Lynagh as Managing Director, EMEA, for Dow Jones Corporate.
In his new position, Mr Lynagh will assume a leading role in promoting Dow Jones’ suite of products to customers across Europe, the Middle East and Africa, as the company strengthens its presence in global markets.
Mr Lynagh has a 30-year track record in business. Beginning his career in Australia, he earned a strong reputation in the field of commercial real estate, focusing on sales, acquisitions and asset management for companies including Richard Ellis Property Consultancy (now CBRE) and Robert Jones Investment Ltd.
In 1998, Mr Lynagh joined Prestbury Investments in London, holding a range of asset management, equity investment and residential property investment positions. He is also a former Ambassador for the National Australia Bank in the UK.
Mr Lynagh combined his business activities with a stellar rugby playing career. He is a former Rugby World Cup winner with Australia, and remains Australia’s record points scorer.
In 2002 he worked for the International Rugby Board (World Rugby) assisting with rugby’s reintroduction to the Olympic games. His experience in sports and sports administration will be invaluable to Dow Jones Sports Intelligence, the new risk management service for the sports industry launched last year.
A seasoned broadcaster, Mr Lynagh appears regularly on television as a rugby analyst. He has also written extensively for The Times and The Sunday Times.
