Over 1,000 Guests to Attend Third Annual My Possibilities Community Ball presented by Alliance Data on Saturday, April 30

Organization Holds Unique Fundraiser Themed, “Unlock the Possibilities” to Honor and Benefit Adults with Special Needs

PLANO, Texas, April 26, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Dancing shoes and good moves are required at the third annual My Possibilities Community Ball on Saturday, April 30 at the Embassy Suites Hotel - Frisco. A Plano-based non-profit, My Possibilities is dedicated to empowering adults with special needs through quality continued education.  The Community Ball will help raise funds for the organization’s clients, whom are lovingly referred to as Hugely Important People or HIPsters.

As a pioneering leader in continued education for adults with special needs, My Possibilities’ (MP) programs offer continued learning opportunities to adults who have aged out of the public school system. MP provides education in independent living skills, vocational training, social skills development, and a variety of enriching educational programs using computers, art, music and physical exercise which are all designed to stimulate the HIPsters’ cognitive and creative abilities.

The Community Ball begins at 6:00 p.m. and is open to the entire community and HIPsters alike. This event was not just created out of the desire to raise funds for the organization. The Community Ball is also an opportunity to celebrate the HIPsters and their accomplishments. Guests will have the pleasure of interacting first-hand with the HIPsters for whom they are raising money and advocating for, while witnessing the joy HIPsters exhibit and spread as they dance to live music provided by the Time Machine Band.

In addition to a formal dinner and dance, the event will host live and silent auctions. A few of the items to be included in the live auction are a 2015 Masters Tournament pin flag signed by tournament champion and fellow Dallasite, Jordan Spieth, a jewelry package from Helzberg Diamonds, and a pair of custom My Possibilities-inspired boots from Mandujano Western Boots. The silent auction, which will last throughout the evening, will include a cabin-stay near Lake Tahoe, various concert tickets to see Top 40 artists such as Rihanna and Selena Gomez, as well as artwork, jewelry and other objects of interest. There are also a few special surprises planned throughout the evening, and the Time Machine Band will close out the event this year with some Billboard favorites.

For the third year, Alliance Data is the Presenting Sponsor for the My Possibilities Community Ball – and many North Texas businesses, families and individuals have also joined together to make the My Possibilities Community Ball another success this year.
