HONKARAKENNE INITIATES AN EFFICIENCY PROGRAMME AND CONTINUES ITS EFFORS IN SALES

Honkarakenne Oyj initiates an efficiency programme which aims to achieve one and a half million euro savings in fixed costs. In addition the variable costs of production will be adjusted to the changed view in net sales. The full impact of the programme is expected to be fully operatinal in the second quarter in 2017.

As a part of the efficiency programme Honkarakenne initiates co-operation negotiations which may lead at most to the reduction of 60 person-years. The reduction may be implemented by temporary lay-offs, redundancies or other arrangements.

The implementation of the efficiency programme may result to non-recurring costs in 2016.

In Finland Honkarakenne continues its efforts in healthy homes and holiday houses, public projects such as healthy kindergartens and schools.

Honkarakenne continues its efforts in sales and marketing in Asia. Honkarakenne has obtained an acceptance for Honka log buildings in China. The acceptance enables Honkarakenne to offer its buildings to both governmental projects as well as projects of state-owned enterprises in China in the future.

More and more Finns considers healthiness as an important factor when choosing a house. In addition there is a significant amount of kindergartens and schools which suffer from poor indoor air quality and municipalities and cities are looking for solutions for these. Honka Healthy House concept is a correct solution for all these needs.

”The development of company’s operational efficiency is a key factor in ensuring this year’s result. In ensuring the long-term result the attention is paid on developing sales and marketing especially in our main market areas in Finland and Asia.” says Marko Saarelainen, the president and CEO of Honkarakenne.
