Open MRI of Allentown Selects eRAD’s MU2-Certified RIS

Integrated Speech Recognition and Insurance Verification round out cloud solution

GREENVILLE, S.C., May 24, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- eRAD, a division of RadNet, Inc., and a leading provider of standards-based, web-centric radiology image and data management solutions, announced today that Open MRI of Allentown, d/b/a Allentown Diagnostic Imaging (ADI), has selected eRAD’s RIS and supporting modules as part of a strategic expansion.

ADI, based in Allentown, Penn., recognized the growth opportunity in automating more of its clinical and business workflow. eRAD’s Insurance Verification module, for example, allows the front desk and scheduling operations to run more efficiently. With seamless integration to eRAD RIS, the module delivers accurate, real-time verification of patient insurance information, including co-pay, deductibles, co-insurance, coverage and eligibility.

“The automated verification feature is a significant enhancement to our current process which will provide a cost savings as well as increased efficiency,” said Lori Caffrey, Director of Operations. “It allows our staff to focus on other priorities and patient care.”

ADI can use eRAD RIS to qualify for Meaningful Use Stage 2 federal incentive payments. eRAD supports its customers with an attestation roadmap and makes compliance simple with feature sets in the interface, plus reports and performance auditing.

“So much of what we’re planning—from the automated sharing of electronic reports through HL7, to simply improving documentation—is addressed by eRAD’s RIS. We’re streamlining our workflow across the board. eRAD has served us so well for many years, and we’re excited to be expanding our technology as part of our facility expansion. It’s all so that we can have a greater impact on the community we serve,” said Caffrey.

eRAD’s cloud-based platform allows ADI to scale without a large capital outlay and an overhaul of their imaging infrastructure. “Flexibility is the key,” said Caffrey. “The technology itself is so flexible—our radiologists can self-edit and create signing routines that fit their preferences, directly in the RIS—but also, eRAD offers licensing that works for us and meets our needs.”

Seth Koeppel, Senior VP of Sales at eRAD, said, “ADI is a long-term customer of ours, and they’re now increasing their clinical efficiency with built-in, RIS-driven reporting. The radiologists will have patient history, tech notes, images, priors—everything necessary—on a single platform and with a single login. They know from their experience with eRAD technology that the system adapts to the way they work, not the other way around, and we’re delighted to bring greater gains to the practice.”
