In comparison to the previous year, the dividend per share thus increased by 37.5 per cent (2015: EUR 1.20 per share). The payout ratio - in relation to the earnings per ordinary share (EPS), adjusted for negative goodwill from the acquisition of Westdeutsche ImmobilienBank AG (WestImmo) - is 52 per cent and therefore fully in line with the Company's communicated dividend policy. The corresponding resolution proposed by the Management Board and the Supervisory Board was adopted with a majority of 99,95 per cent of the shareholders. Shareholders also adopted the other proposed resolutions with a large majority. Hermann J. Merkens, Chairman of the Management Board, presented a confident outlook on Aareal Bank Group's business development in the current year to the shareholders: "Our successful first-quarter performance shows that we are also making good progress this year. We remain optimistic that we will achieve our targets for 2016, even though the business environment will not change fundamentally - in fact, it will remain challenging."
