IRVINE, Calif., May 27, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Autobytel Inc. (Nasdaq:ABTL), a leading provider of online automotive services connecting consumers with dealers, has named Jill Scollo, BDC Manager at Rothrock Motor Sales; Bill Burns, BDC Manager at Taylor Kia of Boardman; and Gary Swartz, General Manager of Freeman Toyota as the Autobytel Dealers of the Month for January, February, and March 2016, respectively.

The Autobytel Dealer Awards Program recognizes exceptional #ABTLDealerStars from a competitive field of thousands of automotive retailers who employ the highest standards in digital automotive retail sales, lead management processes, and customer service, and a commitment to mobile and emerging technologies.

“We are continually impressed with the caliber of our Dealer of the Month winners, and we are honored to recognize our first quarter winners who are truly setting the bar high for the year,” said Jeff Coats, president and CEO of Autobytel Inc.  “We are proud to say that these dealers are part of the Autobytel family and prouder still that their dedicated teams, combined with their exceptional processes and level of commitment to their customers, are shining examples for dealers around the country.”

Rothrock Motor Sales is a Nissan, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram dealership located in Allentown, Pennsylvania.  It opened its doors in 1960, making it the third-oldest continually owned Nissan dealership in the country.  BDC Manager Jill Scollo cites following up and providing customers with the exact information they’re requesting as key ingredients for her dealership’s success.  In addition, she says that understanding the trends of online car shopping and buying is critical.  Her team considers every customer an Internet customer because today, virtually everyone starts the car buying process online.

Taylor Kia of Boardman in Ohio is part of the Taylor family of dealerships which is celebrating its 50th year in business. When asked for best practice tips, BDC Manager Bill Burns advises dealers to have excellent sales and follow-up processes in place so communication doesn’t break down and customers don’t slip through the cracks.  According to Burns, his team has an extensive follow up process, and from start to finish, they are in contact with customers for 140 days.

Freeman Toyota is rooted in the wine country of Northern California and has been in business since 1963. Gary Swartz is General Manager of the dealership, and says that they are successful at meeting the needs of their customers because they do everything in their power to facilitate the customers’ requests. Additionally, he states that the most effective thing a dealership can do is to make sure that the follow up is sound, with a safety net in place. Swartz also says that his dealership is all in with emerging mobile and web-based technologies because being customer-centric means you will do what your customers gravitate towards.

Winners are selected each month based on key digital automotive best practices after Autobytel's sales and dealer operations teams evaluate prospective candidates from a competitive field of thousands of automotive retailers in the Autobytel network. In early 2017, Autobytel will announce the Autobytel 2016 Dealer of the Year Award, with the dealer champion chosen from the group of 2016 monthly winners.
