New UNIWHEELS plant goes into operation

  - Production capacity rises by up to 2 million wheels annually

Bad Dürkheim, 16 June 2016: After just under one year's construction, the
new UNIWHEELS plant in Stalowa Wola has gone into operation ahead of
schedule. After successfully completing test operation in May, regular
casting operations started at the beginning of June. Originally, the plant
was scheduled to go into operation in August. At present, 250 employees are
already producing wheels using the first low-pressure casting machines. The
wheels are then finished using a process that is almost completely
automated. In addition to standard wheel production, the new recruits are
also being trained for the coming phase when the plant goes into full
operation. Production should come to roughly 500,000 wheels by the end of
the year.

At the beginning of the coming year, 400 full-time workers will produce up
to 2 million wheels per year when the plant is in full operation, most of
which will be shipped to customers in the German and European automobile
industry. This will increase the total capacity and operating output of the
Group by roughly 20%-25%, which translates into a total production volume
of up to 10 million wheels per year. Likewise, the headcount of the group
will rise to just under 3,000, of whom 75% are based in Poland and 25% in
Germany. Based on the currently high utilization of available capacity and
steadily rising demand that reaches into the coming years, UNIWHEELS
assumes that the new plant will very quickly reach full capacity.

Dr. Karsten Obenaus, CFO of UNIWHEELS AG, states, "The new plant in Poland
is financed primarily from the proceeds of the successful IPO of UNIWHEELS
AG last spring. Approximately one quarter of the capital was subscribed by
international institutional investors. With a volume of roughly EUR120
million, the IPO on the Warsaw stock market was the largest in Poland in
the last two years."

"Now that the new plant has gone into operation, UNIWHEELS is currently
evaluating locations for the construction of potentially another new plant
to produce up to 2 million units. Feasibility studies are currently being
drawn up and discussions held with the relevant key customers to identify
the most suitable location for a potential new plant. The decision on a new
plant is expected from management within the coming 12 months," reports Dr.
Thomas Buchholz, CEO of UNIWHEELS AG.
