CLEARWATER, Fla., June 16, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- On Saturday June 18th, Scientologists and friends will hit the streets of North Greenwood in Clearwater with the purpose of creating a cleaner, drug-free community. Meeting at the Martin Luther King Jr. Center, volunteers will split up into groups to pick up trash and litter, and will distribute Truth About Drugs booklets to raise awareness of the harmful effects of drugs in the neighborhood.

Boy Scout leader, Bob Kenne, said, “We are on a mission to get the word out on the Truth About Drugs. Everyone deserves to know the effects of drugs before they make a decision about them. This is the fourth of such neighborhood clean-ups in the North Greenwood area. Volunteers have participated for hours on their weekend in an effort to improve the community.
The Truth About Drugs is a program to educate youth and adults with factual information about drugs so they can make informed decisions and live drug-free. These materials have helped people around the world learn about the destructive side effects of drugs and thereby make the decision for themselves to not use them.
