Covisint Initiates Search for Additional Independent Directors

Board Retains Leading Executive Search Firm to Identify Qualified Board Candidates

DETROIT, June 22, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Covisint Corporation (Nasdaq:COVS), the leading Cloud Platform for building Identity and Internet of Things (IoT) applications, today announced that its Board of Directors, in an effort to enhance the ability of the Covisint Board of Directors to drive the creation of shareholder value, has unanimously authorized the retention of Seiden-Krieger Associates, Inc., a leading executive search firm, to identify qualified candidates to serve as independent members of the Board.

Philip Lay, Covisint’s lead independent director, stated, “While Covisint has a strong Board of Directors composed of highly-qualified directors who are proven leaders with solid expertise in a variety of areas that are critical to the success of Covisint, we believe that identifying qualified Board candidates through a comprehensive search process will benefit Covisint and all of our shareholders. Over the past few weeks we have sought and received input from many of our largest shareholders. As a result of that input, we believe that the addition to the Covisint Board of one or more additional independent directors would be responsive to the wishes and interests of our shareholders.”

Added Mr. Lay, “We will begin our director search process immediately and we will be looking for highly-qualified, very experienced, proven business leaders who have competencies, skill sets and relevant industry expertise that would complement the strengths of the current members of our Board and enhance management’s ability to drive the execution of its various initiatives for creating shareholder value.”
