Numerex Added to Russell 3000 Stock Market Index

Company Included in Benchmark Index of Largest Publicly Held Companies

ATLANTA, June 23, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Numerex Corp (NASDAQ:NMRX), a leading provider of managed machine-to-machine (M2M) enterprise solutions enabling the Internet of Things (IoT), today announced that it is set to join the broad-market Russell 3000® Index at the conclusion of the Russell US Indexes annual reconstitution, effective after the US market opens on June 27th, 2016.

The Russell 3000 Index is a capitalization-weighted stock market index, maintained by the Russell Investment Group that seeks to be a benchmark of the entire U.S stock market. It measures the performance of the 3,000 largest publicly held companies incorporated in the U.S. based on market capitalization. It represents approximately 98% of the US public equity market.

Membership in the US all-cap Russell 3000 Index, which remains in place for one year, means automatic inclusion in the large-cap Russell 1000® Index or small-cap Russell 2000® Index as well as the appropriate growth and value style indexes. FTSE Russell determines membership for its Russell indexes by objective, market-capitalization rankings and style attributes.

“Our addition to the Russell 3000 is an important milestone that reflects the market's recognition of Numerex’s transformation to a predictable recurring services model and the Company’s favorable growth prospects,” said Ken Gayron, Chief Financial Officer of Numerex.  “We are delighted to be among the top small-cap stocks in America, and look forward to the higher profile our shares will have, along with the opportunity to attract a broader audience of investors, as part of the Russell 3000,” Mr. Gayron added.

Indexes provided by FTSE Russell, a leading global index provider, are widely used by investment managers and institutional investors for index funds and as benchmarks for active investment strategies. Approximately $10 trillion in assets are benchmarked against the Russell US indexes.
