On 11 August 2014, Tallinna Kaubamaja Grupp AS published a stock exchange notice, announcing that their subsidiaries request refund of sales tax paid in Tallinn from 1 June 2010 to 31 December 2011 in the sum of 3.27 million Euros. The City of Tallinn has decided to return sales tax from excise goods. According to the stock exchange notice published on 10 May 2016, disputes continued over non-excise goods – proceeding of refund requests of sales tax submitted by Kaubamaja AS and Selver AS took place in Tallinn District Court, and AS Viking Motors, AS TKM King and OÜ TKM Beauty Eesti planned to appeal against the decision of 9 May 2016 of Tallinn District Court to the Supreme Court. Respective appeal in cassation was submitted to the Supreme Court on 8 June 2016.
With the decision of 30 June 2016, Tallinn District Court did not satisfy the appeal of Kaubamaja AS and Selver AS. Subsidiaries of Tallinna Kaubamaja Grupp AS do not agree with all the conclusions of the district court, and will submit an appeal in cassation against the decision of Tallinn District Court.
