WHAT TO EXPECT

Leaner But Bigger: The 8th annual Hispanicize is scaling back from five to four full days. Even so, the event will attract more than 3,000 attendees and will feature just as many speakers, town halls, cultural discussions and sessions as in years past. Hispanicize is also moving to a Monday through Thursday format.

A Full Hotel Takeover: Hispanicize 2017 organizers are particularly excited that the JW Marriott Marquis, the first hotel that ever hosted the event in Miami in 2012, will also be the first venue that Hispanicize takes over fully from top to bottom. “The JW Marriott has the space and is giving us the freedom to produce the most engaging and visually stunning event it has ever hosted and God willing that’s exactly what we will deliver,” said Ruiz. “This unprecedented flexibility is a great opportunity for sponsors who value creating engaging onsite activations and content.”

2nd Annual ¡DiMe! Summit: The acclaimed, all day ¡DiMe! Summit for Latino and multicultural creators will expand as it moves to Miami’s Wynwood arts district. The 2017 ¡DiMe! Summit will retain its intimate, creative, educational retreat feel even as it accommodates 250 attendees. The summit is set for Monday, April 3.

Video Creators and Filmmakers Track: Hispanicize and DiMe Media are launching a new four-day track fully devoted to multicultural video creators and filmmakers. The Video and Film Creators Track will comprehensively tackle every single facet of video and film production, platforms, monetization, creativity, video content marketing, sales and more.

Multicultural Marketing Showcase: Hispanicize will convene top marketing professionals for three full days packed with industry townhalls, case studies, research sessions and workshops.

3rd Annual Tecla Awards: The 2017 Tecla Awards, the nation’s premier awards program for multicultural social media creators and media companies, will close out Hispanicize 2017. The awards program will be the culmination of an all-new award nomination process, streamlined categories, increased public voting and a prestigious Judges Academy all delivered during an exciting evening filled with the nation’s top Latino creators, music artists and of course, dancing.

2nd Annual Hispanicize-NAHJ Spanish-Language Journalists Showcase: Hispanicize and the National Association of Hispanic Journalists have renewed their partnership to once again unite to produce the 2nd Annual Spanish Language Journalists Showcase and to conduct the Student Journalist Project.

Expansion of Hispanic Music Industry Track: In partnership with multiple media and music partners, Hispanicize 2017 is expected to produce its largest and most comprehensive music industry showcase. Past music artist performers and speakers have included Wisin, Carlos Vives, Luis Fonsi, Sheila E., Chino y Nacho, Gente de Zona and Jesse & Joy, among others.

Among the popular programs that will return for Hispanicize 2017 are the 4th Annual Positive Impact Awards, the Latinovator Awards and the 6th Annual Hispanicize Film Festival.
