You can always count on Patrick Cudahy to rally around its friendly and welcoming hometown, where its original smokehouse is located. “Race for the Bacon” has become an annual tradition that supports the community while dishing out summertime fun, entertainment and excitement for everyone who joins. The first 125 finishers received a package of Patrick Cudahy fully-cooked bacon. Prizes were also awarded for the best costumes, as well as the top three male and female finishers.

Just as in years past, race participants gave it their all. Brian Falcone came in first with a time of 16:54:94. He was followed by Tim Cigelske and Thomas Goiw, who took home second and third prize. Jennifer Chaudoir crossed the line with a time of 19:26:58, giving her honors as the fastest woman at the event. Amy Schlotthauer came in second, with Ruth Lunz crossing the finish line in third place.

The bacon excitement did not end at the finish line. Following the race, Patrick Cudahy served up the "Bacon Bash," which included a variety of delicious bacon treats and beverages.

“The Patrick Cudahy ‘Race for the Bacon’ is one of our favorite summer traditions,” said Bud Matthews, Senior Vice President, Patrick Cudahy. "We love seeing the community rally around this event to make it such a success. I want to thank everyone who came out and supported a wonderful cause, the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.”
