Krakus Celebrates 58th Annual Chicago Air and Water Show

Blue Line Train and Lakeshore Buses Showcase Iconic Krakus Ham Sandwiches

CHICAGO, Aug. 09, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Krakus, “The True Imported Polish Ham,” is celebrating the 58th annual Chicago Air and Water Show in a fun and unique way. The Krakus “Ham Train” returns to the city’s Blue Line with two train cars covered in a special design reminiscent of its mouth-watering, traditional deli ham. In addition, commuters traveling to the Lakeshore area will spot 102 buses displaying images of Krakus Ham sandwiches.

Chicago’s Blue Line train and buses serving the North Park and Forest Glen garages will have the new, delicious look from August 8 through September 11. Additional Krakus imagery will be featured on digital signage throughout the city.

"This is one of our favorite projects for Krakus," said Michael J. Sargent, Senior Brand Manager, Krakus. “Chicago has been such a great market for us and we’re proud to be the #1 deli ham in the Windy City.  The Krakus train and buses will be turning heads in Krakus colors and we’re encouraging ham lovers to join in the fun by sharing their encounters on social media."

The 58th Annual Chicago Air and Water Show, presented by Shell and the City of Chicago is August 20 and 21 along the lakefront from Fullerton to Oak Street, with North Avenue Beach serving as show center from 10 am to 3 pm daily. Strong in tradition and one of the largest free admission events of its kind, the show headliners include the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds and the U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights. New this year, the U.S. Air Force F-35 will take part in the show for the first time. For complete show details visit, chicagoairandwatershow.us.

As part of its involvement, Chicago’s #1 deli ham will be on North Ave. Beach August 20 and 21 sampling, handing out coupons and other great giveaways (while supplies last).  Throughout August, select stores in the Chicago area will also host Krakus cooking demonstrations and sample Krakus ham to celebrate the Air and Water Show.

Krakus will also be hosting representatives from the Polish Legion of American Veterans, and will make a donation to its Illinois Chapter on August 21 during a special presentation at the show.
