CHICAGO, Aug. 22, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Krakus, “The True Imported Polish Ham,” is donating $2,500 to the Illinois State Department of the Polish Legion of American Veterans to help them continue to support the rehabilitation of veterans. Krakus, an official sponsor of the Chicago Air and Water Show, made the donation Sunday during a special presentation at the show.

The Polish Legion of American Veterans is an organization committed to the ideals of patriotism, charity and volunteerism through allegiance to the United States of America, honoring our country’s standards and aiding in the rehabilitation of disabled veterans.
The donation highlights a month-long celebration by Krakus to honor the City of Chicago and its Air and Water Show. Both are rich in history and tradition, much like the Krakus Polish Ham. The Krakus “Ham Train,” is rolling through Chicago until September 11th, bringing the authentic taste of Poland to the Chicago Transit Authority.
Two of Chicago’s Blue Line trains are covered in imagery reminiscent of Krakus ham. In addition, commuters traveling to the Lakeshore area will spot 102 buses displaying images of Krakus Ham sandwiches.
