(“JTP”), a domestic specialist in providing technical services to international technology companies entering the Japanese and Asian markets, announced today that they have co-developed a curriculum which teaches users how to expertly use artificial intelligence (AI) in practical applications. The curriculum will become available in November 2016.
There is a severe shortage of personnel capable of making practical use of AI, while the expectation of such use in business continues to grow. Currently, most AI courses targeted at company employees are either entry-level trainings focused on matters such as the history of AI, the types of AI and the basics of how AI works; expert trainings for IT engineers and specialists to acquire skills and knowledge related to business process systems integration with AI, API implementation and natural language processing; or advanced trainings for experts in application program development. Moreover, there have been few curriculums designed to impart practical skills necessary for using AI application programs for problem-solving in business.
The co-developed training curriculum, “AI KIBIT Initiation into Lit i View AI Sukedachi Samurai”, combines FRONTEO’s “Lit i View AI Sukedachi Samurai” (AI Sukedachi Samurai), a business data analysis platform equipped with the KIBIT AI engine, and the know-how from JTP’s technical services to its clients. This curriculum enables non-IT personnel to leverage AI for problem-solving in fields like sales, marketing and consulting.
AI Sukedachi Samurai has been implemented by large banking institutions, major apparel manufacturers and education companies as a business data analysis support system. Combining the experience in these fields and KIBIT’s ability to learn from small volumes of data, the new curriculum teaches how to utilize AI to solve problems in business, to prepare training data and to analyze data through practical cases.
FRONTEO and JTP believe that this curriculum will appeal to a wide population, which will enable large-scale use of AI. FRONTEO and JTP believe this will grow the pool of people capable of utilizing AI to use valuable data buried in the mass of corporate documents, to improve productivity, to facilitate risk management and to identify new business opportunities. Going forward, the two companies will work together to pave the way for further acceleration of the use of AI by companies and organizations by expanding the scope of the curriculum offered.
