MacB Adds Key Research and Development Lab in Fayetteville

Dayton, Ohio, Sept. 26, 2016 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- MacAulay-Brown, Inc. (MacB), a leading National Security company delivering advanced engineering services and product solutions, announced today that the company has added a Command, Control, Communications and Computers (C4) Research and Development (R&D) laboratory in Fayetteville, North Carolina. The 10,000 square-foot facility is located just one mile from the Fort Bragg Army base, and is the latest addition to MacB’s virtual network of research, development and testing capabilities throughout the organization.

The new Tactical C4 R&D lab provides Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) testing, Radio Frequency (RF) emissions pre-compliance testing, environmental experimentation, and support for engineering design and integration activities. Environmental capabilities include the use of thermal shock, temperature humidity, and temperature altitude chambers.

Additionally, the Semi-Anechoic Chamber supports MIL-STD-461 Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) testing, and has a 24-foot turntable capable of supporting 55,000 pounds. An anechoic chamber simulates an Open-Area Test Site (OATS) without interference from environmental electromagnetic field pollution. The intent is to prevent unwanted interference to radio reception including broadcast radio, television, amateur radio and emergency services.

“With the addition of the Fayetteville lab facility, MacB continues to expand its overall capabilities with the customer in mind,” said Fred Norman, Senior Vice President and General Manager of MacB’s Mission Systems Group (MSG). “We are always looking for ways to grow our R&D testing and experimentation capabilities that are essential for today’s continued support of the warfighter.”
